Monday, May 10, 2021 By IVY JACOBS, Times Reporter On Monday, the Indiana State Department of Health confirms two more existing COVID-19 deaths were confirmed and reported on Thursday, May 6, bringing the total to 47 deaths in Clay County since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic began in 2020. Clay County remains in the YELLOW category of the Weekly 2-Metric Score. Wabash Valley has four counties currently in the YELLOW Advisory category on the ISDH COVID-19 Dashboard, including Clay (score of 1.5), Greene, Owen, and Vermillion counties (all with scores of 1). Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, and Vigo counties currently remain in the BLUE category with scores of .5.

Tom Wolf’s office said Tuesday. Across Pennsylvania, 40 of the state’s 67 counties are seeing substantial transmission of the coronavirus, according to the Wolf administration. That’s a drop of four counties from last week, when 44 counties were seeing high spread of COVID-19. The percentage of positive COVID-19 tests dropped to 6.6% for the week of April 30 through May 6, down from 7.6% the previous week, according to the Pennsylvania Health Department.

Martin, executive director of the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, and Ana Ramirez, director of transportation planning and funding, met with the Shelby County commissioners Tuesday morning to pitch their idea of forming a Regional Transportation Planning Organization with Shelby, Darke and Preble counties. “I think it will better connect our region,” Martin said to the commissioners. “It would certainly bring you all in as a player on our MVRPC board of directors.”
